To our dear guests and friends,
We are grateful for your concern.
We are happy to inform you that Hayahay Resort on Panglao Island did not suffer any damage and remains fully operational. Our staff and their families are all safe.
Our airport and seaport have resumed operations. Power and water supply is back to normal. Business establishments in Tagbilaran City and in Panglao including banks, public markets, groceries, gas stations, restaurants and conveniences stores are open and supplies are sufficient.
Guests continue to enjoy the beach, dolphin watching, diving, snorkeling and other marine activities.
Our other main attractions- the Chocolate Hills, Tarsier Sanctuary and Loboc River Cruise- are accessible and the Countryside Tour going to these sites will resume in a couple of days, with some route adjustments.
We are sad that a number of heritage churches have suffered severe damage. Teams from the national government and other concerned groups have conducted initial assessment of the damaged structures and are developing plans for rebuilding and restoration efforts.
Relief efforts are ongoing and the tourism sector has been among the first to respond to the call for help from the affected areas. It is heartwarming that so many individuals and groups, both local and foreign, have come to the aid of Bohol.
Some media groups are now starting to highlight the resilience of Bohol’s Tourism industry considering that its attractions and support infrastructure are largely intact. They have also expressed their willingness to help invite tourists to visit Bohol as sustaining the industry is an essential component of the rehabilitation effort.
Many thanks once again and we kindly ask for your ongoing support for all who were affected by the earthquake.
